Our very own @CarolynMichelle dialed in to the Feminist Answering Machine to sound off on transphobia. What is your feminism if it is not intersectional?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1cNGMLfyj0&feature=youtu.be …

My feminism actually focuses on the liberation of women from patriarchy. Not catering to men who like feminine stereotypes.

What if I told you that it's still intersectional feminism, but it asks important and inescapable questions about transgenderism?

The best thing to come out of intersectionalism is the kyriarchy, but the idea of the kyriarchy could just as easily be replaced with a respect for individual human liberty while removing tribal divisions between people from the equation. 🤔

As a transhumanist, I feel technology will solve trans issues long before the law and society catch up. Ultimately, it comes down to whether men / women are defined by biology or mere identity. The latter seems ripe for abuse, IMO ...

... If you've only to claim you're something and it's true, people can claim to be anything they want (attack helicopters, for instance) and have it be respected. The people who claim biology defines what you are, on the other hand, have fairly clearly-defined parameters ...

... and so you'd only be a woman under that worldview if you fully cross over - which is the goal of trans people to make that switch, or at least bring their body into alignment with their perceptions and feelings about themselves ...

... until that time, you'd still be considered a man, though what differentiates equalism from feminism is that the former doesn't care about your gender identity. It still respects your human rights. Either way, we should still treat people as well as we can.
