I addressed the myth of “choice feminism” in a short talk I gave at the Sydney Opera House earlier this year:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOmIIAact4s …

@femfreq Ermm, this seems a lot easier than a lot of your other stuff to distort into something horrible for the trolls to use as ammo. - Show replies

Yep! I made a comic touching on this too.
@femfreq: Feminism is not about personal choice. https://theconversation.com/no-feminism-is-not-about-choice-40896 …pic.twitter.com/3B4yOvs7ep

@femfreq I would say it's about both; liberation and choice go hand-in-hand. It's only problematic when one topic smokescreens the other. -
@femfreq Sometimes "choice" is used to avoid talking social structures or social norms; others "liberation" is used to invalidate a choice. - Show replies

@Ethelmonster@GynoStar It's saying it's not "all" about choice. The issue is that people try to simplify feminism so it looks nicer.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@Ethelmonster@GynoStar ...As in "choices aren't really choices if the system prevents them, so we should also work on that, too."Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
