Wish I had time to write about representations of masculinity in Elementary verses Sherlock, proving that Elementary is a far superior show.

@femfreq or how Sherlock ruined Irene Adler while Elementary made her doubly bad ass.

@thehipsch I, myself, was re-watching Sherlock with friends tonight. It's important to be in communication with a work's flaws, too!

@thehipsch Yup! And recognizing the flaw and talking about it is an act of affection for that show. You want it to do better.

@thehipsch Otherwise, why bring it up? Pointing out flaws in art can open up a dialogue, not a condemnation. :D

@femfreq Sherlock has superior acting, superior plot, superior score, superior cinematography. Maybe it does misrepresent women.

@femfreq true in that regard. Though it'd be nice if Elementary remembered that it's "Dr. Watson", not "Ms." John never has that problem.

@ivanski @femfreq (2/2) 2) As a surgeon, she would have been referred to using "Ms" rather than "Dr" - surgeons don't use "Dr".

@megpie71 @femfreq I think that's a britishism. Surgeons in the US are still "Doctor".
