Forced to cancel my talk at USU after receiving death threats because police wouldn't take steps to prevent concealed firearms at the event.

I told them the MUCH bigger picture is Anita @femfreq should be able to talk and share opinions without death threats (2/2)

@adriarichards Right. Let's focus on the *real* problem - trying to silence others through intimidation & death threats. Actions of cowards.

Shame on you @usuAggies RT @femfreq: Forced to cancel my talk at USU … 'cause police wouldn't … prevent concealed firearms at the event.

@starstryder it was due to the state's law, not the school's fault.

@todd_1117 Schools are allowed to say no to guns, and check with metal detectors at the door. This happens for many sports.

@starstryder @Todd_1117 Exactly. CCPers aren't the issue. The whole point of CCP is protection from shooters!!

@femfreq Local police definitely more interested in protecting the right to carry a gun everywhere over people's right not to be murdered.

@CHUNK_KELLY yeah let's just have the police break the law and take away our rights tmwhen it's convenient for us

      3. CHUNK KELLY ‏@CHUNK_KELLY 15 Oct 2014

@DeJ_Jello It's not breaking the law. A private establishment can choose to not allow concealed carry. There's no need for heat at lectures.

@CHUNK_KELLY Its not a private establishment

@DeJ_Jello I'm all for guns, I have more than most folks, but not in in a lecture hall where people are throwing death threats around.

@CHUNK_KELLY For me that's the perfect time to have a CCP. The entire purpose behind a CCP in fact.

@DeJ_Jello I hear ya, but if no on brings a piece and everyone is searched on entry an event like that can go smooth.

@CHUNK_KELLY A shooter wouldn't bother with a shake down. He'd just open fire. He was said to have a rifle. Not a concealed
