@femfreq@JillianKeenan I can think of several other, less inflammatory & politically-loaded terms. But that's not what you want. -
@Maggie_McNeill I disagree with you, Maggie. I think "terrorism" sounds like a perfectly appropriate term. -
@Maggie_McNeill What is the intent of death threats, if not to terrorize? -
@JillianKeenan The term has become highly politicized in recent years, and conjures up powerful images...which is what Sarkeesian wants. -
@Maggie_McNeill I bet you'd use the term "terrorism" to describe what the police do to communities of color, right? -
@JillianKeenan Yep. But that's political; not at all the same as what she's describing unless somebody's actually bombing or shooting her. -
@JillianKeenan When one of her enemies is caught actually trying to physically harm her, we can talk again. Until that, not terrorism. -
@Maggie_McNeill https://twitter.com/femfreq/status/504718160902492160 … Those are clear, explicit physical threats. Words can be terrorism, too.

@HistorySusan@femfreq Yes.A lot of activists have left the cyberspace for the same reason. It's exhausting to keep up and not let them win. -
@shreyasen I am taking time off bc med. reasons. I'm dying to have an impact somehow & find my voice again. Perhaps I will take this on... -
@HistorySusan So glad to have made your acquaintance!Come back when you do and we'll find our space again. More power to you. <3
