@femfreq @gilmeansjoy Fantastic suggestion. Here's hoping developers will start imagining more than just Single Story for female characters!

@femfreq @gilmeansjoy Looks like the real question we should ask is why using humans as killing targets is so normalized in gameplay.

@campyspornshack @femfreq I do not disagree. I enjoy violent games, but they and their history. need to be examined.

@gilmeansjoy Sexualizing murder victims is pretty gross. Killing anthro-robots/clones/zombies/vampires is problematic, too. @femfreq

@femfreq @gilmeansjoy I thought putting women in a positive light, as opposed to being objectified, would help with female representation.

@asiribo2 @femfreq You should read the Cross essay I linked to in my article. It explains how you can positively portray an evil woman.

@gilmeansjoy Isn't it a good thing to show women in being the center of good as opposed to evil? Wouldn't positive role models help?

@asiribo2 Showing the majority of women as all good or all bad creates stereotypes. Women, as human beings, are more dynamic than that.

@ArrogantGamer @femfreq I know. Some good voices have stepped up to combat them which I didn't foresee. I'll focus on that.

@femfreq Agreed, though with some nitpicks here and there. Would you extend this to NPCs that don't qualify as objectified in your eyes?

@femfreq @gilmeansjoy There are plenty of games that feature female generic enemies! You can't feature just one and call it widespread.

@femfreq And even then, there'd be some double standards at times. (Female enemies in Captain Commando not having the gory deaths; Poison)

@femfreq There'd usually be at least one female enemy type. (Except in Final Fight, but that's besides the point)

@femfreq @gilmeansjoy The only company I can think of that got close was Capcom during the beat-em-up days. (Cont)
