On the latest Feminist Frequency Radio, our opinions are fiercely divided about the new Netflix rom-com Always Be My Maybe starring Ali Wong and Randall Park, with a memorable appearance by Keanu Reeves! Don't miss it: https://www.patreon.com/posts/ffr-80-always-be-27388198 …pic.twitter.com/6sr9icJPHB

RE: "grey baby clothes for my gender neutral baby shower" the character that delivered the line was wearing I think all grey? If not all grey, at least a grey top. Which to me signaled it wasn't negative, but a smart joke. All the same, Anita's critique is valid. <3

I like when cohosts disagree on movies. It gives a nice balance of perspectives in a positive environment.

It didn't really do it for me, but all the scenes with Keanu Reeves were top notch.

I really wanted to like it, and I kinda did, but your criticisms hit all the points I had issues with. Oh except the magical forgiveness of her parents when they apologized by frivolously spending $. They have shit to work through still.

The sugar bubbles are real! It's a parody of this Chicago restaurant Alinea. Their chef consultant, Niki Nakayama, wanted to make fun of eyeroll-worthy restaurant trends. They picked her after seeing her amazing chef's table episode on Netflix (I cried): https://www.netflix.com/title/80007945?s=a&trkid=13747225&t=cp …pic.twitter.com/Pkk10xifrZ

Would love it if yall could get a guest Asian am commentator for Asian am movies. I wanted more understanding of the film's key moves--away from model minority trope, bourgeois norms, etc.
