    I wish there was as much documentation about the "unhappy" paths of errors and cancellation as there was about the "happy" paths of "this is how this works". What if you need to cancel? Where could there be race conditions? What types of errors could occur? Methods for handling?

    I guess the answer to the original question is: Just merge: Easy, but leaves a messy timeline. Just squash: Pretty easy, leaves a clean timeline. Reworking all the commits to leave the important ones but squash the others: Hard, but ideal. Squash seems good value for time.
