    Remember when building a #Hackintosh was about getting a cheap "Mac"? Today it's about getting #macOS-running hardware that's not outdated.

        @felix_schwarz @dteare Odd, a friend just got parts for his hackintosh, and I'm pondering trying it out on my PC, too.

        @uliwitness @dteare Yeah. More & more ppl in my timeline seem to get/think of a Hackintosh bc the fastest Mac Pro isn't fast enough…in 2016.

        @felix_schwarz I kinda expected them to announce a new Mac Pro at or around WWDC.

        @uliwitness I think there's hope when Sierra is out. They probably want to ship w USB 3.1 (+TB3) & refs to that are in the Sierra API Diffs.

        @felix_schwarz That'd be good. But in general, Apple just need to rev those machines a tad more frequently. All high-ends are kinda dated.

        @uliwitness Absolutely. The mini especially was marginalized with the 2012 > 2014 downgrade – and hasn't been left for dead since. :-(

      If I was still in the market for #macOS servers (I'm not any longer), I'd LOVE this list of #Hackintosh-components: http://www.tonymacx86.com/buyersguide/june/2016 …

        @felix_schwarz @marcoarment I’ve moved my server over to FreeBSD, as there seems to be no hope of any 18 wheelers coming from Apple.

        @schamschula @marcoarment Did the same in 2012. FreeBSD+ZFS are addictive when it comes to storage and backups.

        @felix_schwarz @marcoarment Don’t do it! If you like the simplicity of Apple products just working, you’re in for a world of hurt.

        @hackmodford @marcoarment No worries. I just shared my observations here, not planning to buy or build my own.

        @dennisdlambert @marcoarment I think they're waiting for Sierra's USB 3.1 support to go all-in on USB-C/TB.https://twitter.com/felix_schwarz/status/742610193201135617 …
