Years ago told me not to take staffing too personally. You can do everything right and still not land the gig. You’re still a good writer. Keep going. Best advice I ever got.

When asked what advice Amy Poehler had for young female directors she said: “Do it even if you don’t think you’re ready... a lot of women wait until they think they’re really really ready for something. And I’ve worked with a lot of guys who aren’t ready for what they’re doing.”

I accept you. You can talk about successes and failures. Or not talk at all. I ain't going nowhere. I am finally unafraid of all I inherited from you, and all of the debt I owe. You are so much more than my Mama. But you are my Mama. In all the ways. All the times. Revision.

Thinking about the support and coddling and scolding and more support each writer needs to flourish. So this tweet is a thank you to the agents and editors who have to do all that heavy lifting for every client they represent. I know that mess ain’t easy.

Why are people so cavalier about trying to get someone fired? Unemployment is serious. It’s a slippery slope to homelessness. Why would she do this over such a minor infraction?
