Want to switch from windows to a lightweight Linux OS for d 1st time. Didn't use Linux ever before. Which 32 bit Linux distros would be d best choice to switch swiftly from windows?

Any linux distro is lightweight by itsself. The window manager makes it heavy or not. Stick to the "classic" distros so that you can find a lot of support/online material and choose a lightweight window manager. Would recommend Xubuntu or Debian + Xfce. If lighter, try LXDE.

Yeah, must agree. Debian and *ubuntu are quite user-friendly, and Xfce is a great choice when coming from Windows BTW, I use Arch (+Xfce, but Arch doesn't support x86)
