  Key difference: the evidence base for assessing claims. Purchasers of an Amazon product have direct experience of that product. But readers of news don't have independent information about the events described (they weren't there)

  Unfortunately, rating manipulations on Amazon have been occuring since its inception. In fact, many of the authors/gurus we have today became popular thanks to the unethical inflations they've received in their ratings, either through direct/indirect intervention.

  imo the net today is close to be uneuseful. gg seem gave up. messed the ecosystem incentive structure. delegated to influencers. fb and yt is the voice given to the uninfluencers, so very sorry but uneuseful ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ amz deliver but on the site is just a marketer war as usual
