It's seriously heartbreaking to see smart people, who do not have bad intentions, dedicate their skills and energy to building that system, while choosing not to care (or even think) about the consequences.

Whether deliberately or inadvertently I don't know, but the communication & sharing dynamics of Facebook have evolved to become a social engineering project with incredibly deleterious effects across multiple countries and cultures.

But surely we the users have to take part of the responsibility right? I mean we fed the monster.... I feel like social media is what you make of it, I feel you can avoid the harm; it’s a tool, you just gotta figure out how to use it.
