Came across a description of "10x engineers" as people with a superhuman affinity for reading/writing/debugging code. Hard disagree. If you're working on the right problem and approaching it with the right data structures, you're a 10x engineer. The rest is filling in details.

To be considered a 10x one you can't only know WHAT to code, you need to know HOW to code. It is a sure thing that this needs a change in consciousness and perception of the world itself. People often forget about such skills as system architecture, planning, algorithms and etc.

Sometimes a great engineer is held hostage to a bad library or api written by a <1x engineer.
