I wish we could post read-only tweets: no replies, not quote-tweets. Replies very rarely add value. @jack @sriramk please?

Allowing moderation of replies to select tweets, by the original tweet poster, could be helpful.
That's a good idea, but it would also be quite work-intensive.

It depends on how big your following is. imo, people with moderate to large audiences should be allowed to moderate replies, and people with very large audiences should be allowed to write reply-free tweets.

Or maybe those options should be available to everyone. But it matters especially for people with a lot of followers.

A few high-profile people I follow block a lot of people to prevent them from replying, and this seems sub-optimal. Comment moderation would be better.

It could be automated. Twitter has a pretty good API, it's not hard to whip up a simple bot in Python.
