Twitter has highly adversarial reply dynamics. It's a playground for trolls, and often even awakens the latent troll in regular people. Like news sites with unmoderated replies, it gives an audience to the most toxic, agenda-driven posters. We need to be able to opt-out of that.

Lots of replies to these tweets are along the lines of: "you arrogant fascist, why do you hate discussion and debate and free speech". I find immense value in open discussions, but seriously, if you think that's how Twitter replies are used, we must not be using the same app.

I've been saying this for 8 months. We need a content platform with a share button only; no comments, no likes, no thumbs up/down - if you wanna talk shit or troll - direct that at your own followers and promote the creator/content to your ppl.
