There's a clear need for more, better explainers about AI aimed at the general public -- about actual capabilities, goals, actual risks, what to expect for the economy and the job market... Gratuitous fear-mongering dressed up as a documentary is the worst possible approach.

Totally agree... 95% of the "Do You Trust This Computer" film that has gone viral is uninformed FUD.

Literally the only accurate portrayals of the capabilites and limitations of machine learning in that "documentary" were made by
@fuelfive. The rest was hard to watch.

The one part about how one of the neurons of the robot was able to recognize faces and uses that for its prediction was not easy to watch. I think that was borderline lie. Not because it's not what happened - but that this is somehow "intelligence".
