They're a remarkably inefficient mode of transportation (energy-wise and space-wise) that encourages even more inefficient urban planning. They're harmful to the planet, your health, and the economy. Give me actual cities with shared electric scooters, bikes, and subways any day.

I'd guess if dockless scooters shared space with cars rather than taking it away from pedestrians, fewer people will complain. It is little different from people getting annoyed by skateboards and bikes on footpath.
