am i crazy to think extreme individual wealth is immoral? that in an ideal world, the billions gates has paid in donations should actually be managed by the people/govt?

number of people less important than who those people are accountable to. also, i notice the europeans replying here seem to have more faith in the govt to make good decisions, the americans more faith in private orgs. maybe education differences?
Maybe not education, maybe just empiricism. Public infrastructure and govt services tend to be severely deficient this side of the Atlantic. But also, lots of corruption and mismanagement of public money in Europe...

to be clear, i wasn’t suggesting “europeans are smarter therefore more socialist” but “being surrounded by good education increases your trust in others to make good decisions”. and point taken about deficiencies.
