Why do you think leading is mostly about getting others to adopt your point of view? I think leading is mostly about bringing out the best in people and making people more successful.
Coaching. You're describing coaching. Leading implies that you have a vision to execute. You lead *towards* something.

Vision is about a broad mission. Execution is about people finding good paths -- including paths you don't know about -- toward that vision. Leadership definitely is not about convincing people you are right.

Leading is largely about getting others to adopt your goals and values. It's about setting the direction. As opposed to telling people what to do. Precisely because others may be better than you at figuring out the way forward. In my opinion. Make of this what you want.

I think that's coaching too, while getting others to adopt your views and making them do what you believe is best is managing. Leading is a good combination of the two in my opinion
