It's clear to me that language (la langue, pas le langage) has significant influence on thought -- on what one can think, and on how one thinks

But remarkably, humans are able to express roughly the same ideas across languages, cultures, and time. Language does not create these thoughts; they could arise in any expression medium (including non-verbal). Language differences are a cognitive tint, not a cognitive rift.

The medium has always great influence on the message -- being a writer steers you towards a certain kind of stories, being a filmmaker steers you towards a different kind. But in any medium, you can still tell roughly the same stories, express the same ideas -- in different ways

Was sich ueberhaupt sagen laesst, laesst sich klar sagen: und wovon man nicht reden kann, darueber muss man schweigen.

And that depends on richness of the vocabulary of a language. I struggle to find my work related terms in my native language, Punjabi. Language and Economics are closely related! Resisting to learn another language can hold you back intellectually as well as economically!pic.twitter.com/vbvv7TWE72

When I was in kindergarten, they taught us French. It wired our brains to be receptive to new languages.
