Facebook is a blue whale, can be found by a naked eye and criticzed. Medium & small scale companies aligning their interests to an ethical product will generate a healthy community!.
I like your message. But doubt that history will judge individual employees. In fact never heard of such case.
Refusing to do the unethical things people ask you is a huge challenge in the workplace because your reputation and job are on the line. I believe there should be internal systems in place to protect employees rights and "stance against unethical requests".
At the end of the day, it is your choice. Either you do it or not. If your values are strong, you don’t care about the pressures. There is policies for that, right? Whistleblowing and so forth.
