The belief that every issue has two sides, and that we should "hear the controversy", is a vulnerability of our media system. It has been exploited by the far right and has led to its rise to power.

Suppose the minority X is "unborn humans" i.e. fetuses, The pro-life movement can for sure sit in an echo chamber (or by lack thereof put their fingers in their ears and go la-la-la) but that doesn't mean the pro-choice movement may have some good arguments to support their ideas

So, the majority rules? What if the majority thinks minority x have no rights?

"Class One [disagreement] is when two people disagree and neither can explain to the other person's satisfaction that other person's point of view. A Class Two disagreement is when each can explain to the other's satisfaction the other's point of view." Bob Taylor of Xerox PARC

Which is the same reason that there is no inherent superiority to a "centrist" view. Being in the center of a skewed debate doesn't make you correct.

This is a very weak argument because it relies on the extreme case of racism . The concrete case against echochambers is what has happened to US politics nowadays: there are only toxic discussions, and the arguments of the 'other side' are strawmanned beyond recognition.

Surely white South Africans where a minority, not the 85%. Echo chambers re-enforce minority opinion.

Unfortunately a minority in the 85%, let's call them the alt-left, willing conflate theoretical far-right concepts with anyone to the right of the far left. This action ironically creates and powers the so called "far right". So, plz, stop and ask: who are the real Nazis?
