I agree with that, but that's a very different claim. First, we can and should aim to solve many vertical problems with a small number of general approaches, not with lots of specialized algorithms.

Secondly, you said there is "no path", not just that they are "not equal". But is it provably impossible that trying to solve more and more vertical problems with more and more general approaches doesn't lead to better and better intelligence?
