What if BTC replaces mature centralized actors (lots of banks) with less mature, more centralized actors (a startup in SF)? What if the net result of BTC adoption is an increase in power imbalance - latecomers conferring great power to a small set of companies & early adopters?

Definitely! Vested interests trying to strong arm it's mass adoption with scare tactics of missing out. Ultimately the first crypto 2 offer a fair buy in for everybody at any point in their life will offer something we can all get behind. Stability and equality will hopefully win
