If you post an argument online, and the only opposition you get is braindead arguments and insults, does it confirm you were right? Or is it just self-selection of those who argue online?

(Assuming this is about intelligence explosion) You wrote a well reasoned argument (which I much appreciate being on the other side of the debate) that deserves a well reasoned reply. I would not expect the good counter arguments to appear in Twitter time.

I think it’s an indication that you’ve gotten yourself involved in a highly polarized matter, and the people who insult stand on the opposite side, while the reason for insults could be that there’s no room for rational and logical debating as the matter has belief-based factors
