If you haven't already, do check out @PyImageSearch's book on practical deep learning for computer vision! Lots of great content, highly recommended. https://www.pyimagesearch.com/deep-learning-computer-vision-python-book/ …

dont you think that more than 100 $ for a book is a little overprized? The complete edition is 645 $. I cannot think of another ml, data science or software eng book which costs anywhere near these prices.

Hey Handrik—the complete edition is for readers who want to reproduce state-of-the-art results on the ImageNet dataset. I implemented all papers from scratch, shared the results in an experiment-like format (show what did/did not work), and included the trained models.

For someone dissuaded by the price, check out fast.ai course on deep learning. Great course that teaches with Keras too, and absolutely free.

For the ImageNet Bundle, I would recommend *at least* one GPU. For the Starter Bundle and Practitioner Bundle, no (but a GPU is helpful). You can configure your own machine or use my pre-baked AMI: https://www.pyimagesearch.com/2017/09/20/pre-configured-amazon-aws-deep-learning-ami-with-python/ … (with or without GPU).

The free course offered by @jeremyphoward in fast.ai is also a comprehensive line by line tutorial and it costs $0. It also comes with videos and Jupiter notebooks.

I really enjoyed Jeremy's course. However, DL4CV includes line-by-line tutorials, multiple experiments (per chapter), and extensive code on how to replicate state-of-the-art papers on large datasets such as ImageNet. It's not 1-to-1 comparison.

Have not bought the book but your website helped me understand some concepts and code them too. Just wanted to say thanks. Ohh and thanks François and your contributors for Keras too.

On pricing: it may seem expensive but if it allows you to change careers and get a boost in remuneration/job satisfaction then maybe it's worth it? I love free stuff (fast.ai MOOC is awesome) but someone must be rewarded for their efforts too: this book was done overnight.
