Whenever I try to pull on loose threads in my understanding of the mind, I jot down notes. And my notes are mostly an endless list of open questions. We know previous little. But at least it's useful to map the extent of what we don't know

This perpetually-growing list of hard questions is perhaps why I am far more skeptic than average of any claims that we will "solve" intelligence "soon". There's far more we don't know than we know, and among what we know, plenty of misconceptions

Would be very keen to see your open list of questions! Is that something you'd consider sharing?

One thing I've been wondering is that can we have an intelligence with only the "good" properties (eg. human creativity) without the "bad" ones (eg. fears, anxities)

That would be some kind of sociopath.

Well, you have to begin with first principles. When you examine the first principles of Deep Learning research, you'll find very little explicitly stated. The only principle appears to be: Learning is achieved through layer that are differentiable. But is that even universal?

We have been wrong, often. Many things that happened were never predicted, and those that were didn't pan out (in the time-frames).

It's like a recursive chain of discovery, but at some point everything will fall into place.
