No technology, no communication platform can be emotionally neutral. Our apps select for certain behaviors, and sometimes prime them.

It is regrettable that the people in charge of designing those dynamics often subscribe to the misconception that technology can be neutral.

They subscribed to the notion (delusion) that tech can redistribute power in an egalitarian way, which has not been actualized in capitalism

It’s more fundamental: pure text mediums strip casual communication of its tone/subtext/context. Social media is innately flawed

I disagree. While I agree humans are by nature compassionate, we react more passionately to aggression. Social media reflect this.
