what AI threat could be greater than a highly competent, goal-driven sentient superintelligence? It would be nigh impossible to keep it contained for starters, and unless it was a 'friendly AI' with goals strongly aligned with our own there's no reason for it not to overwhelm us

AI are based on human developed and implemented algorithms and there's no chance such systems will be able to continuously reconfigure and re-order their logic to much new advancement in technolgy: A requirement for integration and relevance.
