I had a friend ask today why Bitcoin is such a big deal. My answer was if you bought $1 of Bitcoin in 2010 it would be worth $1000000 now.

There used to be websites ("Bitcoin fountains") where anyone could get 5 free Bitcoins. They'd be worth over $20000 now.

The funny part is how the large majority of the people who got some bitcoins that way no longer have access to them
