I can't believe AWS has dropped Keras from its deep learning AMI and replaced it with a *long outdated* MXNet version (v1.2). What?

This is insulting users' intelligence. I feel really sorry for having recommended the use of AWS and this AMI in my book.

They did this? I've written many blog posts recommending aws deep learning Ami for keras :/

Was waiting for them to upgrade to Keras 2 and was surprised when July release still had 1.2..

Highly remarkable. Track the issue on their repo: https://github.com/dmlc/keras/issues/66 …, would be nice if you could chime in too.

Keras is an amazing framework ... very stupid decision to not include it.

        Any stated reason for it?

Apparently an attempt to forcefully get users into MXNet?

Was a reason given for the removal? Very unfortunate..

My guess is it’s probably an oversight.

Probably because mxnet is faster and scales much better. Keras is great for research, but mxnet is better for deploy.
