Also, if the scientists you quote speak with total confidence on a topic that is far from settled, maybe they're not very good scientists
It's not having a PhD that makes you a scientist, it's applying the scientific method to advance human knowledge

I've been employing the dialectic method in my private writings to get to the bottom of this.

It ends up with both sides (denoted Left and Right) getting mad because one doesn't understand the other because of faulty assumptions.

Practically speaking I think it's the time spent. Ph.D. Students are thinking about same topic for 5 yrs.
