Online, open-source, free education is the future. But MOOCs aren't. We can do better than putting college classes online.
College wasn't a good model to begin with, and what made it work - social environment, legacy credentials - is gone in the online version.

In my experience, collaborative learning via forums, slack etc. also not really helping. People lose motivation and move on in few days.
