I agree. But what's the alternative? Well thought out interactive experiences? @distillpub + teachers in some form?
Online, open-source, free education is the future. But MOOCs aren't. We can do better than putting college classes online.

College wasn't a good model to begin with, and what made it work - social environment, legacy credentials - is gone in the online version.

I think the MOOC problem is that they are too impersonal. People need to be observed and supervised by other people in order to pull 100%.

My idea would be: MOOC content delivery + personal educational trainers, that would discuss the study plan, monitor progress and give advice

This is already implemented by some. Students watch videos, with deeper discussions during classes. In this case the MOOC's a bonus.
