My contrarian opinion: it won't. What matters isn't the fakes you can produce, it is mostly the possibility that any media could be fake

and that ship has already sailed. We already have sufficient media editing capabilities to cast doubt on any picture/video, no AI required

Most propaganda items can be debunked with minimal effort. It doesn't make them any less effective. Detection should be used for prevention
