The average technical/business decision wrt DL (outside of large companies that have had a few yrs to build experience) is based on hearsay
Because deep learning is booming, the field lacks best practices; practitioners tend to be new. Combined with hype, this is a bad situation

Not worried. In '90s we had so many YANN "yet another neural network" app, biz, paper, etc. But things moved forward and here we are!

I met a few enthusiasts, even some who claim to be ML specialists, who don't understand the very basics of signal/data representation.
