Also consider this: there have been humans in history with an "intelligence" 3 or 4 std higher than the mean. Did they take over the world?
There is pretty strong evidence than most of them had utterly ordinary lives. Humans that did take over the world were usually not geniuses.

Depends on how you define genius. Many sociopaths (aka politicians :) ) are social manipulation geniuses (domain specific genius).
