Machine learning is 'the new mobile' in terms of tech focus, yes. But comparing to (say) relational databases seems more useful.

Relational DBs led to Oracle and SAP, but also to Intuit. Quicken is a DB, but is Intuit a 'database company'? Not really.
there will be no Oracle of ML. But there will be many successful vertical applications.
