What exactly does this do?
Use Keras `fit` (and Keras optimizer) to train a model on data pulled from TF queues, to minimize an externally-defined loss.

What do you mean by 'externally-define loss'? It is defined in the Keras code you posted, isn't it?

Ah nevermind, I missed that the loss was actually define in TF and then added to the Keras model.
