then why am I seeing self-driving cars in my city (with tons of pedestrians on Castro St.) every time I go out?

#CVPR2016 say tesla~L2, goal is L4+ (and that is still ill-defined). Possible quantum leap from L3 to L4 -
Baidu, Tesla are very small players. I wouldn't look to them for information.
