Eventually (2020?) devs will drop Python 2 support, and those still on Python 2 will pay $$$ for support.
no one will pay anything. Python is OSS and is used by millions; those who use it will keep supporting it.

people who want 2.8 want a magic 2.8 that is backwards compatible with 2.7 but has new 3.x stuff.
