The notion that Python 2 will "retire" in 3 yrs is a fantasy. There are billions of LOC of Python 2 in prod, and they're not going anywhere.
Some large companies using Python (they're all on 2.7) would sooner write their own interpreter than switch to 3. Can't port millions of LOC
