We've made progress since, but AI is still as far away as it was then. Today's hubris is still on the exact same scale as this quote
1967, Marvin Minsky: "Within a generation ... the problem of creating 'artificial intelligence' will substantially be solved."

That said, AI has made huge progress and is on a trajectory to change the world in the medium-term future. But it still won't be "AI".
