I also saw openai ppl playing with tf. I wonder how/if caffe and torch will try to keep their usershttps://twitter.com/demishassabis/status/726079159051649024 …

Also, I really like diversity everywhere. I hope big companies keep supporting different frameworks.

@edersantana FB will most definitely keep using Torch and Caffe, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. And Theano is still strong.

@fchollet good. I myself am just waiting for better error messages /fast rnns to jump off ship to tf in my keras backend :D

@edersantana I think error messages are pretty good since 1.0. Btw @seaandsailor are you still looking into TF's scan for Keras RNNs?

@fchollet @seaandsailor you mean tf 1.0? Keras erros are fine. I mean tf errors

@edersantana oh, ok! What kind of TF errors though? I think TF has much better stack traces than Theano...

@fchollet i was having issues with array indexes. I had to switch to th to know that. I also redifining functions within session

@edersantana when debugging complex Keras layers I find it useful to switch back and forth between backends, you get complementary error msg

@fchollet yeah i do that too hahaha keras privilege. That is why I thought a numpy/autodiff backend could be useful: debugging!

@edersantana very interesting idea but would require np support for a bunch of complex stuff: pooling, conv, autodiff...

@fchollet can still be fast-ish, but would require at least the following external packages: numba and autodiff

@edersantana @fchollet it's not that fast but there is an amazingly good auto diff package that wraps numpy: autograd
