In the long term, there will always be more innovation coming from the community at large than from corp labs. Esp closed ones like DeepMind

@fchollet Your statement seems spurious. E.g., over half of the accepted papers at ICLR were from corporate labs such as goog, fb, & msft. -
@ethancaballero Google is ~5% of the total output of *AI research* (the one domain it invests in). Others don't even register on the radar.
