@fchollet is this because one symbol conveys more meaning than a word in English for example?
In Japan, Twitter has more MAUs than Facebook. I suspect the reason is that you can say ~5x more in a tweet in Japanese compared to English.

@fchollet Partially true. A word in English can be written in a few symbol(char) in Japanese. For example, book(4 chars) is 本(1)
