I would predict that people's willingness to use violence is a sigmoid response to the prevalence of violence around them. Any actual study?

@fchollet Testesterone helps. Having very few Oxytocin receptors in the brain helps as well. Generally being male helps.
@vakibs clearly my hypothesis assumes biological factors are controlled for, with the only environmental variable being external violence.

@fchollet then it might work :) but biological factors probably override environmental factors when it comes to violence. -
@vakibs incredible drop in violence in e.g. Japan over the past 400 years suggests biology is not relevant. Violence is vanishingly rare now - Show replies
