I think the TL;DR is that Theano's scan is well-optimized but its CPU convolution op is horrible

@fchollet oh yeah, they deprecated their regular conv a while ago. They were the last to use gemm convolutions on CPU, are u using that 1?
@edersantana I'm using the default with the latest version of Theano. No cudnn.
