Perplexing that Keras dropped by 3 pts compared to last year while TensorFlow increased by 3 pts, since 99% of new TF usage leverages Keras. I think this illustrates the fact that the TF brand tends to override the Keras brand, i.e. many of our users answer "TF" but not "Keras".

A similar phenomenon was likely at work in the StackOverflow developer survey 2021, which showed a large adoption gap between TensorFlow and Keras -- which should not exist in 2021...pic.twitter.com/aelZCvJRSK

Keras usage has meaningfully grown in 2021 in absolute numbers (e.g. docs traffic), though that doesn't say anything about market share (for which we have to look at other metrics, including these 2 surveys). TF/Keras share is unchanged compared to 2020 as far as I can tell

Very insightful ! Quick question : why tensorflow is still separated from Keras ? I thought that keras became natively integrated within TF since 2+
-
It's possible to use TF without using Keras functionality (though that is rare) and it's possible to use Keras without touching raw TF APIs. They remain two distinct products, even though Keras is part of TF.

perhaps the survey should be defined differently. Perhaps having a different question for low or high level frameworks. I think keras is comparable to other more abstract libraries such as to fastai or pytorch lightning whereas pytorch, tensorflow are lower level.
-
also, asking which framework you use without a context of the data (structured or unstructured) makes no sense. Which frameworks do you use for structured data? I'd expect to see scikit-learn, xgboost, etc and less tensorflow/pytorch there.

It's good to see that popularity of both Tensorflow and PyTorch is Increasing rapidly. What surprises me is that popularity of Keras is reducing :(.pic.twitter.com/sMNz2eWv8c

I might have selected only tensorflow in retrospect with the assumption I was using tf.keras and since I have not used keras as standalone since incorporation in TF2. I assume I wasnt the only one with this interpretation even if wrong, so chart prbly misleading. Sorry for that
